Weight loss, fitness and diet - Motivation through
education
I love reading about
healthy eating, exercise and fitness. That is exactly the
reason I started the
book review
section of this site – I figure if I am going to be
reading, I might as well review the books and add value to
the site and our readers. A phrase I read in one of the
books I reviewed is the reason for this article.
One author of a recent
book I read coined the phrase “motivation through
education”. He stated that the more we learn about health
and fitness the more we will be motivated to exercise and
eat right
Today I received
confirmation of this weight loss and fitness truth.
I came home from work
exhausted today. I decided immediately after work that I was
not going to exercise tonight. I rationalized that I would
exercise plenty this week and missing today’s cardio was
okay.
Later, I decided to read
some of my latest book that I am reviewing. The particular
chapter I am reading is about the numerous benefits of
exercising. The more I read about the benefits of exercising
the more I desired to exercise tonight.
Of course some of the
things I was reading about I already knew, but hearing it
again raised a desire in me to do tonight’s workout. It
really does work. Because of other books I have read I find
myself reading food labels and making healthier choices. I
have also cut out some snacks that I thought were okay but
later learned were chocked full of unwanted ingredients.
Likewise, some of the foods that I used to most enjoy, (and
were the worst for me) I don’t even desire any more.
Start your weight loss,
diet, and exercise motivation/education today. Read some of
the books that are not considered fad diets or programs.
Stick to the books that write about healthy living and long
term, permanent weight loss and fitness. Stay away from the
magazines that give an unrealistic view of what health and
fitness are about.
If you don’t know where
to start reading – check out my book review section for some
good recommendations. Get educated and get motivated!
Wishing you the best of
motivated health!
