Vegan diet plan

 The vegan way of eating is making news again.  It seems that not only is a vegan diet plan considered healthy but it also is highly effective for weight loss.

Recent study reviews have stated that those who follow a vegan diet plan are not only leaner than meat eaters (by as much as 20 percent in bodyweight) – they also have lower incidents of diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure.

If you are considering following a vegan diet plan, be aware that there is much to learn. A vegan diet plan means that you will get your food from only plants. Following a vegan diet plan will require you to learn about various plant foods, food combinations, nutrients, and ways of cooking. By educating yourself on the vegan lifestyle you will ensure yourself that you are eating for optimal health and nutrition.

The vegetarian resource group: Is a non-profit group dedicated to educating the public on vegetarianism. This is a great place to start learning about a vegan diet plan. They have cookbooks, pamphlets, and article reprints along with a lot of great content on their site.

FDA consumer reprint: Is an old article that explains the different types of vegetarians, some nutritional needs to be aware of, and some recommendations to help you make your transition to the vegan diet much smoother.   

The key to success with a vegan diet plan is education and variety. Learn all you can before trying this lifestyle and be sure and check with your doctor first. Your doctor may wish for you to work with a registered dietician.
