Here is a fresh outlook on dieting. If you
are ready for a different approach to losing weight – you
are going to love this book.
This book captivated me right from the front
flap: “Everyone knows how to lose weight: eat less, move
more. But though they know what to do, millions of dieters
don’t do what they know. Why not? Because they don’t
understand the brain body dynamics of weight loss.”
That is what this book is about –
understanding the brain-body dynamics of weight loss. The
author teaches you to get thin from the brain outward.
This very thorough book
is separated into 7 stages:
Stage 1:
Pre-contemplation.
Stage 2: Contemplation
Stage 3: Preparation
Stage 4: Action
Stage 5 Maintenance
Stage 6 Relapse
Stage 7 Celebration
This book is full of
cool exercises and facts that you won’t find in most diet
books. One example is the “Polar bear effect” which is an
Harvard experiment applied to your average diet – in other
words – what you resist persists.
I also loved the fact
that the author provides a simple test which will tell you
your diet profile. From your diet profile you will be given
advice on how to move forward which include books and weight
loss systems that will benefit you the most. But do not
worry – the author does not just label you and send you on
your way. I only use that reference as a mere sampling of
how this book will help you get to know yourself.
I think most anyone will
benefit from reading this book. However, if you have tried
every diet on the market and still are trying to lose weight
– this book is a must read. Be prepared to think in a
different way on your journey to “thinner peace”.
