The south beach diet is attracting much attention these
days. I have seen south beach diet products in the
supermarket, south beach diet advertisements, and now the
south beach diet seems to be all over the internet. I wanted
to find out a little bit about this diet to pass on to our
readers who may be considering giving it a try.
The south beach diet is a low carbohydrate
diet that focuses more on which carbohydrates to ingest and
also focuses on healthier fats such as those found in canola
or olive oil.
The south beach diet is broken down into 3
phases. Phase one lasts for only two weeks followed by phase
2 where you start introducing approved carbs and then phase
3 is designed for you to follow the rest of your life.
Phase 2 will teach you how your body responds
to different carbohydrates thereby instilling lifelong
habits that are better choices for you. Phase 2 of the south
beach diet can last as long as you need.
Phase 3 of the diet is considered the
maintenance phase. You are encouraged to continue making
healthy choices and maintaining your ideal weight.
The south beach diet is like any other diet
in that you must be able to eat the recommended foods to
succeed. Search for some south beach diet recipes and ask
yourself if you would be satisfied getting your daily
caloric intake from these foods. Check with your doctor,
