Six meals a day diet

Six meals a day sounds strange to anyone wanting to lose weight but it actually has some valid reasons for working.

Bodybuilders discovered long ago that feeding the body every three hours helped them to stay lean, nourished, and speed metabolism. Nowadays dieters are starting to catch on to the six meals a day diet.

Here are some of the advantages of the six meals a day diet:

Stay satisfied. By eating a small, nutritious meal every three hours you are less likely to become so hungry that you sabotage your diet. When you do start to feel hungry, you normally only have to wait a half hour or so before your scheduled eating time. Most diets have you waiting until evening to eat a real meal – that is a long time to wait!

Speed metabolism. Conventional wisdom tells us that when you follow a restrictive diet; your body slows down in anticipation of less calories and nutrients. Conversely, when you supply your body with a flow of healthy foods on a regular schedule – the body has no need to slow down and try to conserve.

Learn portion control. The six meals a day diet has you eating small nutritious meals throughout the day. By eating these small meals every 3 hours or so; you naturally train yourself in portion control. You won’t feel over stuffed or have that normal after eating lethargic feeling that comes when you overeat.

I personally like to work a meal replacement powdered shake or meal replacement candy bar in once or twice per day. These are convenient, highly nutritious, and low fat meals that will easily leave you feeling satisfied for about three hours.

I try to get a protein source and a raw fruit or vegetable in for each of my meals. Because of the growing popularity of the six meals a day diet; you are likely to see all sorts of books and such coming out with different variations of this eating plan.

One of my favorite sources for more information is the “burn the fat feed the muscle” ebook. (Sometimes known as bffm) Remember that the six meals a day diet was being done by bodybuilders’ way before the mainstream diet world caught on to it. Tom Venuto is a bodybuilder that knows how to help people lose fat. Check out his ebook here: Click Here!

Wishing you the best of health,

Bill
