Negative calorie diet

The negative calorie diet is based upon the idea that certain foods require more calories to digest than they actually contain. Therefore they are termed negative calorie foods.

Little to no scientific evidence exists that would prove that negative calorie foods exist but that does not mean there is not any value in the negative calorie diet. The negative calorie diet will usually have you eating a variety of healthy foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables.

You can probably find stories of many people who have lost weight on the negative calorie diet – but have they lost weight because of the “lower calorie” selections they are making on the negative calorie diet – or – because the foods they are eating require more calories to burn than they contain?
