Review of the diet supplement Lipovarin

What is Lipovarin?

Lipovarin is a diet supplement from Sterling Laboratories that is designed to facilitate fat metabolism and support lean body mass.

It is in tablet form and is to be taken twice daily – morning and mid afternoon.

What does the product claim?

Lipovarin is said to enhance your energy levels and improve physical performance. It is said to boost the metabolism in similar ways as ephedra or Ma-huang without the negative side effects. Lipovarin also is said to have ingredients that will help suppress your appetite. One ingredient in Lipovarin (7-keto) is said to be clinically proven to allow for 3 times more weight loss than diet or exercise alone.  Lipovarin also contains ingredients that are said to enhance your feeling of well being.

Ingredient analysis

Metabromine (theobroma cacao) or Cacao fruit extract is derived from the Cacao fruit and contains natural methylxanthines theobromine and caffeine. This is said to have a mild stimulating effect on the body as well as a mild diuretic effect.

Advantra Z ( citrus aurantium) This is an extract of a Chinese herb that is sometimes referred to as Bitter Orange. Bitter Orange has alkaloids in it that are related to ephedrine alkaloids. It is said that these alkaloids help to increase your metabolic rate while increasing lipolysis. (The rate of breakdown of stored fat) The most common alkaloid present that you have probably heard of is synephrine.

Green Tea leaf extract (camellia sinensis) By now you have probably heard of green tea and many of it's reported health benefits. Green tea has been touted as being good for your cardiovascular system, lowering cholesterol, assisting your immune system, and finally – weight loss. Green tea is rich in EGCG which is making news on it's own.

Serotain™ contains an extract of Griffonia simplicifolia, as well as some other sources of 5-HTP. Griffonia simplicifolia comes from a West African medicinal plant. These ingredients are said to provide the raw materials your brain needs to make more serotonin.

Caffeine is not only going to supply you with energy but some even say that caffeine will help suppress your appetite.

Rhodiola Rosea Comes from Eastern Europe and has been called an adaptogen. Rhodiola Rosea has many claims including stimulation, enhancing work performance, helping with fatigue, and increasing your resistance to physical stresses.

Taurine is a non-essential amino acid. It has been said that a deficiency of taurine can cause problems with fat metabolism.

L-Carnitine L-Tartrate – Some say amino acid and some say it is a member of the B-vitamin family. L-carnitine is essential for producing energy from fat.

7-Keto (7-keto-dehydroepiandrosterone acetate) is a non hormonal derivative of DHEA. It is said to help increase your body's ability to burn calories.

Coleus Forskohlii (10% Forskohlin) has been reported to have positive effects on thyroid function. A poor functioning thyroid can contribute to weight gain.

Does Lipovarin achieve the above stated results?

The reviews of this product are mostly favorable. Users report extra energy and weight loss. Successful Lipovarin users seem to be motivated to exercise and eat right. Could this be the result of the energy and mood affecting ingredients in Lipovarin?

The makers of Lipovarin seem to have set out to design a weight loss product that will attack weight loss from many angles. Among these angles are; suppressing appetite, speeding up metabolism, giving you energy, and helping to maintain a positive mindset.  Some people will probably not be able to tolerate the effect of the caffeine and alkaloids and all users should probably check with their doctor before taking Lipovarin. The key with any weight loss supplement is to let it help you do what you need to be doing; (eating right and exercising) and in this case Lipovarin seems to help users do both.

The negative reviews of this product range from not being able to tolerate the energy to the product flat out not working. As with any product – what works for some will not work for others.

Dosage: Three capsules twice daily. Once in the morning and once mid-afternoon

Cost: Random checks see the price range from $64.00 to $69.00 for 150 capsules.

Where can I get it? Lipovarin is readily available on the internet and probably in your local health food store.

Summary Lipovarin contains quality ingredients and is a bit costly. Lipovarin is probably going to give you a pretty good jolt of energy. Some people will probably not be able to tolerate Lipovarin and some people should probably not even try it because of medical reasons. (Read the warnings before purchasing)

The makers of Lipovarin offer a money back guarantee* if you are not satisfied with the product. (*As of 07/26/06) This makes it much more attractive to try.

I think that the bottom line is that Lipovarin in conjunction with better eating and exercise will help some people lose weight.
