Permanent weight loss

Are you seeking permanent weight loss?

If you ask most dieters whether they are seeking permanent weight loss or temporary weight loss the answer will inevitably be "permanent!" How does one achieve permanent weight loss? Is it by following a fad diet for a year and losing our goal weight and then returning to our old eating habits and lifestyle? I think instinctively we know the answers to the above questions but the latest advertisements make a certain diet look so simple and the latest exercise gadget so easy! Please don't misunderstand – There are fantastic diets and exercise programs on the market that stress a healthy lifestyle. I fully support many of them. The purpose of this article is to hopefully uncover some illusions we may be living under thinking that permanent weight loss is any thing other than a total lifestyle change.

When some people think about a permanent lifestyle change the thought comes to mind of seeing themselves eating bean sprouts and running marathons every day. They frame it in their mind as a grueling miserable lifestyle. In reality it is a lifestyle where you enjoy delicious, healthy foods in moderation and feel vibrant and alive from physical activity.

When choosing your weight loss diet please consider whether it is encouraging you to live a healthy lifestyle by changing long term destructive habits or if it is encouraging you to adopt a certain lifestyle for a short period and then return to your old way of living.
