The many faces of battling the bulge
The Many Faces of Battling the Bulge
I have been battling the ever-increasing size of my waist
and rear-end for years now.
Ever since I had the kids, I
can't seem to lose the weight. And I will tell you
something, I am tired of it! I am tired of worrying. I am
tired of trying new diets and finding out that I am weak and
can't stay on anything long enough to make it work for me.
I tried yoga. Not for weight loss, but for flexibility. I
stopped when I noticed that it was easier to pass gas when
you are lying on your back with your legs up over your
shoulders or doing 'downward dog'. The others lying near me
didn't seem to like that very much.
I tried tae bo, but stopped when my kids somehow misplaced
my videos. I still haven't found them.
I tried Richard Simmons, but I stopped when I just couldn't
take his smiling face anymore.
I tried the South Beach diet and actually lost 21 lbs, but I
stopped after I ate one lousy piece of chocolate at my son's
Scout Halloween party. Fell off that wagon hard! It was like
all I had wanted my entire life was that piece of candy.
I bought a new plaything yesterday: a rebounder. Yep! I am
trying the mini trampoline thing for a while. Hopefully,
this will work because the treadmill is covered in layers of
folded clothes.
