Flavor Point Diet Review
The Flavor Point Diet by David L. Katz
and Catherine S. Katz |
I really did not know what to
expect once I started reading the Flavor Point Diet, but I understood
the concept before even getting past the introduction.
Dr. Katz does a
great job of explaining the concept of the Flavor Point Diet and the
science behind it.
Quite simply, when you taste too
many flavors from different foods or from foods overloaded with
ingredients, you overeat. When you organize flavors in your diet, you reach satisfaction with fewer calories. Sensory-specific satiety
is defined by Dr. Katz as “The tendency to feel full and stop eating
when flavors are limited and to stay hungry and keep eating when
flavors are diverse.”
The diet arranges flavor themes
into your day in a way that will help you reach what Dr. Katz calls
the “flavor point”. Flavor point is the point at which you feel full and satisfied
sooner, thereby losing weight.
The three phases of the Flavor
Point diet will lead you from:
 |
A daily flavor theme in weeks 1-4
|
 |
A flavor theme for individual
meals in weeks 5 and 6
|
 |
Then on to a permanent lifestyle
change by using flavor management
|
You are not on your own when it
comes to finding the foods to incorporate into your flavor themes.
Catherine Katz has compiled over 100 recipes that will keep you on the
flavor point.
I like this book because David
Katz teaches us to love wholesome foods. We have been programmed to
believe that if something is healthy then it certainly must taste bad.
Dr. Katz will teach you that this is definitely not true. Dr. Katz
includes tips throughout the book that are designed to help you wisely
eat for the rest of your life.
I recommend this book for a
number of reasons. You will gain a greater understanding and
appreciation of what is on a food label and you will discover new tastes
of wholesome foods. it is jam packed with healthy, delicious
recipes and it is very convenient.
I think the Flavor Point Diet has
the potential to create a much healthier, leaner world.
Wishing you the best of
health,
Bill
