3 Hour Diet
The 3 hour diet is based
on a philosophy that bodybuilders have been living by for
years: Eating every 3 hours stabilizes blood sugar, and
programs your metabolism to be faster.
One explanation given is
that your metabolism will kind of anticipate your behavior.
For example, if
you eat one big meal a day the metabolism will anticipate
that meal will need to last you for 24 hours therefore will
slow down in order to “hang on” to the calories. Of course
this is an oversimplification of what is going on with the 3
hour diet – but it serves as an excellent illustration. On
the other hand, if you are constantly feeding the body with
quality foods in appropriate portions, the body will speed
the metabolism up in anticipation of the next feeding.
Some other benefits of
the 3 hour diet:
You do not become so
hungry that you get weak and make poor choices and
overeat.
You get used to
smaller portions
You begin to think of
eating as fueling the body rather than something you do
for pleasure. (Although with the 3 hour diet you can enjoy
good foods!)
The three hour diet
is something that you can adapt into a lifestyle. It is
not grueling to follow.
Because the 3 hour
diet is not grueling to follow you are less likely to gain
the weight back once you have lost it.
